Jiaxun (family instructions), also called jiajie (domestic commandment), jiafan (domestic model), jiafa (domestic disciplines), jiagui (domestic rules), yixun (deceased instructions), yijie (deceased warns), guifan (norms), shifan (public norms), quanyan (admonish), tingxun (domestic instructions) and so on. They were the instructions that the elders taught their descendants to manage the family and adapt to the society. The exposition on family ethic and moral norm occupied much place in the ancient jiaxun. However, the economic activities were the basic content in family life. How to deal with the economic affairs was of vital importance to the family's stability and rise or fall. Therefore, how to manage family and domestic finance became the major content when the writers of jiaxun taught their descendants.The history of jiaxun went back to ancient time. Each dynasty had some representative works, especially the Yanshijiaxun, which was written by Yan Zhitui of Northern Qi Dynasty. It promoted the systemization and socialization of jiaxun. The jiaxun culture went into a new period in Song Dynasty. The writing of jiaxun became common practice and many works emerged, which provided us rich materials on studying the families' economic ideas in this dynasty.Song Dynasty was an important turn period in Chinese history, particularly in the field of social economy. Many new development and changes arose .The jiaxuns of Song Dynasty reflected some features of Song's economic development and some new tendencies .By summarizing and analyzing the economic ideas, we could get more concrete and true understanding about Song's society development.This essay discussed and analyzed the economic ideas in the range of Song's jiaxun , such as family economic management system ,land and rent consumption ,commodity and currency .sharing the property while living together or apart. It focused on the changes and features of economic ideas in order to study the characteristic and historical development of Song's economy.
