Marriage in Medieval Western Europe is a complex issue. The institution of marriage was filled with conflicts between Christianity and lay forces .In the early Medieval times, this conflict just began to be felt .In the high middle ages, theories and concepts of marriage of Christianity took the upper hand, while in practice, the lay forces took control of the family wealth. Thus, the conflicts intensified. Both sides, in the process of this conflict, neglected humanity and suppressed human passion. Love is human nature. Love cannot be suppressed. The present thesis includes three chapters. Chapter 1 discusses the beginning of the conflicts between the Christianity faith and the lay pursuit of material wealth. Through careful scrutiny, the author uncovers the conflicts between the Christian church and the lay forces in the concepts of marriage.Chapter 2 describes the intensified conflicts between the Christian faith and the lay pursuit of material wealth, and further analyzes the nature of the conflict. In Chapter 3, the author describes different manifestations of love and believes that these were the results of suppression of love by the Christian faith and neglect of it by the lay forces.
