Kang Youwei was one of the most influential thinkers in modern Chinese history, Various researches have been done on him. However, the researches on his early stages have been weak comparatively speaking. His reflection on cultural against the backgroud of serious national crisis and complex cultural backgroud is considerably underestimated. Due to little Learning, the author only attempts to integrate and sort out his thoughts in the early stages by standing on the shoulders of prerious researchers.The author believes that Kang Youwei was the first thinker in modern Chinese history who has attempted to solve Chinese national crisis by employing cultural. In order to achieve this, he began to create an ideological and cultural system in agreement with the actrual national conditions.
