"Wenqi" (spirit of writing) is a category with the unique Chinese flavor. This article, based on theories of the forerunners such as Zhu Dongrun, Guo Shaoyu, Pu Zhenyuan, etc, intends to further analyse the theory of "wenqi" from an angle of life and aesthetics, therefore revealing its deep connotation and aesthetic meaning. The whole papers is composed of three chapters:The first chapter introduces briefly the development of the "qi" theory, It is of great necessity to study the "qi" theory because it is the very basis on which "wenqi" builds its theoretic structure.The second chapter, formed by the life of "wenqi" and living spirit of the subject, perceives the power of human character and the consciousness of life, which imply the systematic movement of human life through the external form of literary works.The third chapter, starting from the "interaction between human and nature", demonstrates the aesthetic meaning of "wenqi" from an angle harmony and integrity.
