| Rudong vernacular belongs to Tongtai Dialect in Jianghuai dialect . However, Rudong is part of the region on Wu dialect in history , and the status quo shows it is closely bounded on the Changzhou part in Wu dialect , so there is marked bottom preservation of Wu dialect in Rudong vernacular.The present thesis mainly adopts the methods of the descriptive linguistics , attempting to proffer a panoramic view of the phonetic , lexical and grammatical features of Rudong vernacular.Firstly , the paper describes consonant, simple or compound vowel and tone of Rudong vernacular in detail , generalizes their distinctive features and the coordinative law , analyses concretely the different pronunciation of written language and spoken language , summarizes the converted pronunciation , which includes suffiration of nonsyllabic "r" and the shiftable tone in successive pronunciation. Then it lines up a homophone list in full detail.Secondly , the paper makes a comparison between Rudong vernacular and Standard Chinese on some basic affix , such as "Er" "Zi" "Tou",then lines up the glossary, explains the meaning of each entry and give a suitable example.Once more , the paper enumerates serveral common usage , gives priority to four special grammatial features , such as "Zhe" "Ke"and the Phrase "A and B De" , the Sentence "Quo VP". It also lists the sample grammatical sciences in detail.Eventually , the paper compares respectively Rudong vernacular and Yangzhou vernacular , Changzhou vernacular , Rudong vernacular and the other vernaculars of Tongtai dialect . Points out that Rudong vernacular is an untypical vernacular in Tongtai dialect, which posseses strong details of Wu dialect. Meanwhile, it proposes a tentative idea about the historical gradation quality on Tongtai dialect, that is , the bottom preservation presents the increase progressively trend from the south to the north , and Rudong vernacular is the middle region of that interim connecting the north dialects and the south dialects. |
