| The essence of Han Yu's literary theory and works is to express Taoism,i.e.to enrich the contents of articles with Confucious clas-sics and traditional thoughts to serve for social morality.To serve this purpose,articles should be free from the influence of pursuiting extravagant words,form and rhythm.What's more,articles should be rich in the social reality.With the help of former explanation to the relation between articles and Taoism and with consulting the situa-tion of the mid-Tang Dynasty,Han Yu makes a new annotation to Taoism.At the same time,he notices the lyric peculiarity of litera-ture and creats a lot in artistic skill enabling the innovation of Chi-nese ancient prose,not only to change the flashy writing style of Pian -Wen,but also to overcome the shortcome of the innovation pioneers' imitating the ancient style purposely.As a whole,Han Yu creats a new era of Chinese ancient prose with his great works. |
