Modern Chinese Landscape Painting,

After the 揗ay Fourth 揘ew Cultural Movement, the shock of the west art was a fact that every Chinese painter must face. A lot of intellectuals suggested to reform the traditional Chinese painting by introducing the west oil painting. The Chinese landscape painting, which had been holding the leading place of traditional paintings accepted the baptism of the reform at the first place. To be one of the methods to rescue the declining traditional Chinese painting, sketching from nature was treasured by the painters in all schools. The thesis tries to expound the newly development of modem Chinese landscape painting by means of studying different painting methods adopted by these those painters, thus creating a thought background for the development of modern Chinese landscape painting. The painters of the traditional style, represented by Huan_binhong and Zhangdaqian, made breakthroughs in traditional landscape paintings from different angles under according basis so as to modernize it. The painters of the incorporated style, with the leader Lin fengmian and Li keran, introduced the style of the west painting into Chinese landscape painting before changing it into a quite different appearance, supplying a new way for the development of the Chinese landscape painting. Because of the distinction between Chinese culture and western culture, the writer believes that the benefits of an art form from other nations must has a foundation of culture. Meanwhile, the writer also believes that only by going back to the origin can the Chinese landscape painting develop healthily.
