Chinese Social Control And The "great Leap Forward" Campaign In The Late 1950s, The 20th Century

With the social control theory of sociology introduced into the field of "the Great Leap Forward"study,this thesis mainly targets on the social control methods of the country's regime,law,social opinion and morality plus observation on the controled limitations and process of these meth-ods,so as to offer some reference viewpoints for China's modernization in the new period on the conclusion of both experiences and lessons in later 1950's social control. It consists of three parts.The first two parts mainly give analyses to the social control changes of the new republic and their influences on the social development around1957.By that it reveals the prolems emergent in the social control system should be responsible chiefly for China's so-cial transformation towards the partially malignant lapsided development during"the Great Leap Forward"period.Such phenomenon indicates the unharmonious factors in social control more and more increased.Conse-quently,there was a tendency of over control on the whole soicety as well as emergence of vulnerable aspects in social control system. The third part points out that to the largest extent,for the fulfilment and maintainence of the benign coordination of China's society,we must make the leadership institutions of the country and the communist Party soundand rule by law,together with the emphasis of the media supervi-sion and establishment of full rational concept of collective morals.
