| This thesis starts with analysing the style characteristics of 揝ix Chapters of a Floating Life? and focuses on the generalization in its style attribute, style origin and style characteristics of this essay. The article develops further into 3 aspects in the discussion order: differentiate and analyse style, textual style origin and summarize style feature.In 揹ifferentiate and analyse style?part, firstly, we enumerate eight style distinctions of 揝ix Chapters of a Floating Life?in the present literary field which disagree with each other mainly on wether it belongs to essay or fiction. Secondly, we determine its essay style type in respects of style characteristics of the ancient essay and fiction, literary narrative angle and literary lyricism.
