Warring States History Development Theory

The Warring States age is a glorious period in the thinking and cultural history of China. Letting a hundred flowers and a hundred schools of thought in contention aueuerated the ancient learning content has caused to cevelop comprehensively. It was in this social circumstance that history, the long-standing subject, acquired a new life and developed in a large scale. It obviously made some achievements in three aspects. First, all types of historical books emerged in large numbers like the bamboo shoots after a spring rain; secondly, the social atmosphere of paying close attention to history became unprecedently dense; Thirdly it was obviou that the historical thinking develoged rapidly ctivity. It was a historical practice of researching, the ancient history. Through this acivity, the historical researching knowledge was popularized unprecedently, the consciousness of history awakened, the odd fabled materials of the old ages were preliminarily sorted out. the historical prints and all kinds of concept of history and principles for sorting out historical books were proposed by various shcools. All of these laid a solid foundation on the development of historical science in later ages. Meanwhile, it provided the atom sphere and surrouneling for the development of conpilation historical science. On this solid basis, the compilation historical books took an essential leap to ward. The speech-recording historical books gave out a group of assembly works such as ShangShu, GuoYu, ZhouShu, etc. the deed-recording historical books gave out some mature an-natystic style works as ZuoZhuan. The old pattern of distinctively recording speech and deed was broken down completely. The emergence of ShiBen showed that the autobiographic style historical books also came into being in the Warring States stage.
