The main task of writing classes for students majoring in Chinese from basic to intermediate level at higher education institutes in Vietnam is to help students improve their Chinese expression accord with Chinese grammar and accustomed expressions. Different methods should be used at different phases in the training process. Based on the previous research, this article will analyze and classify the difficulties of the writing classes for students majoring in Chinese, and then suggest some strategies. This article is mainly focus on the difficulties and strategies from both aspects of teaching and learning. In order to avoiding adding the burden of writing classes and reducing the learning efficiency, this article argues that 'listening and writing' and 'reading and writing' should be the main teaching and training methods for the students at basic level, while 'writing according to given pictures' and 'writing after watching some movie clips' are more suitable for students at intermediate level.
