This article is mainly discussed an array of historical geography questions about the Changsha section of Xiangjiang River during Ming and Qing Dynasty, including the evolution of main sandbar, changes in estuaries and waterways, ferries and the remediation of river ports.The first chapter from the district administrative region division and river and lake water systems account of two profiles within the geographical area. The second chapter is the focus of discussion and also is the main part of the paper. Fist, researched the Orange Island, Xingma zhou and Nanjin zhou, one by one. Secondly, to clarify the"Luotuo Zui","Tuo kou","Liukou Shu", and the correlation between names. Second, the discussion with the Liuyang River and Laotang River waterway changes from the original combined into two Xiang River flows into the Xiang their independence. The braided river in the remit section which Laotang River and Liuyang River flowed, formed"backflow flood"in the flood season. The backflow flood phenomenon means extremely good sign in geomantic theory. Chapter three discusses the Xiangjiang River in the waterway arteries–ferry, including its setting and classification, the scale of facilities and their maintenance and operation conditions. The fourth chapter focuses on the channel improvement and dredging, which plays an important role in the maritime commercial and transportation in the Changsha area.The article are not only researched the evolution of the natural environment in terms of historical physical geography, but also discussed the debugging and adaptation to the environment evolution in terms of historical human geography, particularly focusing on the relationship between the environmental and social. That is an inquiry into the relationship between people and land. In summary, regional economic development is closely linked with the evolution of the natural environment and its evolution after the human factors.
