.1901-1911 Years Between Inner Mongolia Place Names Study

Walther Heissig, a famous German scholar, get great academic achievements, especially in Mongolian studies, almost no aspect is not he noticed. As an important research field of Mongolian studies, toponymy was one of his research subjects. We may say his three works on this subject laid the foundation of Mongolian toponymy research. But today few people remember his contribution on this field.In this academic thesis, Author collected the pictures and place names which related to inner Mongolian during 1901-1911,from Professor Walther Heissig's works, and made some analytical investigation on these materials.In the introduction, author corrected some non-standard terminology in Mongolian toponymy at present, and offered his views. At the same time, author also introduced the research background of this subject in aboard, methodology and the importance of own academic paper.In chapter one, author explained the basic materials which used in the thesis and discussed the historical geography and place names in Inner Mongolia during 1901-1911.In chapter two, author discussed the linguistic features of Mongolian place name by two aspects.In the conclusion, author summarized the academic questions in the thesis.
