Bronze "zhi" appeared in the Spring and Autumn ealier period,popularing in the Spring and Autumn midterm and later period,beganing to perish in Warring states later period.It played important part in combination of bronze.However,the previous research of bronze"zhi"just concered particular question,the general research of bronze "zhi" just appearing in some general works about bronze.But, as a part of bronze, the shape,emblazonry,inscription,artifcles combination of the bronze "zhi" extend great significance in studying other bronzes.On the foundation of previous research and the archaeological documents,this paper also absorbs the records from the part dynasties,and then takes the statistics,archaeological taxonomy and cultural analysis,etc,to study the nameing,taxonomy,division combination,regional style and the rise and fall of the bronze "zhi".First part:the name. This paper summarizes predecessors' work on how to name Bronze "zhi". Based on this, we think calling it "zhi" for its convenience.Second part:the taxonomy. Before typology analysis,the area unearthed bronze "zhi" separate into several regions:shandong region, zhongyuan region, southern region and northern regions. Mainly basing on the bronze "zhi" unearthed in shandong province, another three regions as reference,this paper, according to the bottom feature divided into three categories:first:pan, second:four feet, third:ring foot. The first categorie separat into A, B and C three types.The second and the third respectively divided into two types. Eeach type is divided into various types.On the basis of previous evolution of type of bronze "zhi", the development of shandong area bronze "zhi" is divided into four ages eight parts, Zhongyuan area divided into three ages six parts, Southern proudest are divided into two ages four parts. And then,we conclud the era of each periods. We just assort the bronze "zhi", according to the type of copper classified,but not dividing different ages, because of the small number of unearthed in the Northen area.Third part:The combination. The research of this paper is on the base of scientific un earthing bronzes,which had to stealing interruption.It considers the time as the main clue to examine the various combination in different periods,which has pointed out the position of "zhi" in bronze combination as well as the norms changing. We find that during the Spring and Aautumn dynasty,there was one pzhinomenon that the bronze "zhi" appeared alonly in shandong and northern regions,which was related with DongYi culture.Forth part:Functions. We think it's right that judging function by the tombs combination,so,the bronze "zhi" was used as wine ware. According to the size and shape of "zhi", The bronze "zhi" was used as drinking wine ware at the beginning,and then,it became into installing wine ware after Spring and Autummn midterm period.Fifth part:rise and clan. We think bronze "zhi" firstly appeared in the southern areas in shandong province. The "zhi" does not imitated the shape of one of potteries nor one of other bronzes,but imitated the shape of pur ware,which was related with natural geographical environment, the development of handicraft industry and the cultural atmosphere of itself in the area where the bronze "zhi" rised.The "zhi" alonly appeared in tombs of shandong,which is relationship with dongyi culture.Sixth part:The relationship between Bronze "zhi" and fall.
