Zen Contextual Analysis

Zen Buddhism is unique to China. As Chinese characteristics of Zen Buddhism, it inherits the development of Buddhism in India and continually acceptes China's traditional culture and innovation. The last century, the studying of Zen from different perspectives is the "eyes of the beholder, the wise see wisdom." That language problems of the Zen attracted the language scholars'attention began in the 1980s, however, most linguists were interested in Zen language ontology research, and rarely considered the context of Zen Buddhism and the practice of its pragmatic problems, of course, also had little interest in the spirit of religion or philosophy in the Zen language.This article is based on Chinese unique Zen cultural knowledge,using the Western pragmatic theories and the contemporary context of the latest theoretical results, tosimply sort out and analyze Zen context and hoping to promote the development of the culture of Zen and the research of it. The main content can be divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, the main issue is to reveal the cause of Zen context, the status quo of the research and the methods of the research.The second part defines the concept of Zen context, mainly from the connotation and denotation. Zen concept definition can be divided into broad definition and narrow definition; the definition of the concept of Zen is from static and dynamic point of view.The third part analyzes and classifies the elements of the context of Zen. Discussing from four aspects:one is the Zen of unique words, including body language and non-conventional words; the second is the Zen deep religious and cultural knowledge reserves, which can be divided into the basic Zen teachings of reserves and the Zen of cultural knowledge reserves; the third is the "current" Zen life atmosphere, mainly about of'General" life scenes; the fourth is different degrees of Zen state of perception, mainly from the perspective of psychological explanation of context.The fourth part discusses the significance of Zen context for pragmatic inference of themeaning. It's discussed from the pragmatic theory of contemporary Cooperation Principles, Relevance theory and Speech Act theory, combining with the specific context of Zen to reason and explain the unique significance of discourse on Zen quotation.The fifth part discusses the role of context of Zen. Combined with the famous quotations, the paper specifically analyze the significate of Zen context oni determining what the meaning of the ambiguous, the elimination of the various interpretation, the derivation of the session and filling the role of information, and so on.The sixth part is the conclusion, including the significance of the study in the context of Zen and the achievements and shortcomings of the article.
