In the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth century in France, there was one writer of the age respectively. They focused on characterizing valet personages, and showed civic consciousness of the ages in their drama. Such as Les Fourberies de Scapin by Moliere, Le Mariage de Figaro by Beaumarchais, and Ruy Blas by Hugo, they not only truthfully reflected and recorded the age background, but also ideologically and artistically represented the French drama development in their ages. Whether comparing with the characters, or exploring with master-servant relationships, or comparing with role functions, or considering the dilemma the personages were involved, the similarities and differences among Scapin, Figaro and Ruy Blas, were for the objectively existed inheritance and progressive relations among them. On the one hand, the inheritance and progressive of the bottom-level people personages in literature, which was born in the democratization process of French society, was the requirements and reflections of the democratization process. On the other hand, by promoting modernization process of civic consciousness, the inheritance and progressive relations of the personage in literature turned back promoting the democratization of French society.
