The Chinese characters are the writing symbol system used to record the Chinese language and its teaching plays an important role in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. For a long time, the Chinese character teaching has always based on the teacher's point, but it has not totally understood the learner's subjective state. In recent decades, along with the development of cognitive psychology, its teaching has turned its research perspective from the teaching to learning and it researches the learning strategies largely from the learner's point of view. On the basis of many connections of research findings about the language learning strategies both at hone and abroad, and after analyzing it, this article has discovered that the early research methods about the learning strategies mostly are the descriptive questionnaire survey with the lack of experimental training studies and the analysis angle to the large degree starts from the microscopically overall strategies with the lack of microcosmically specific analysis of strategies. Therefore, this article has conducted the strategy training research on each project about the exchange students'learning and use of Chinese character on the basis of former weak points of study.The first chapter:introduction. It mainly introduces the aim of the study and the value of the theme and finds out the unsolved problems in the study.The second chapter:literature overview. It mainly introduces the language learning strategies and the related theory of Chinese characters. The former mainly analyzes the definition, classification and measuring tools of the learning strategies and the inventory of it too with the experimental need. As for the theory of Chinese character, it mainly introduces the definition and functional classification of the components. In the classification, the characteristic, number and positional information of the semantic components and idiophone components are introduced in details in the classification; it has provided the theoretical foundation for the content of questionnaire.The third chapter:the theory support of this experiment and the experimental design work in this article. The introduction of theory in this chapter links closely with every step of the design, has a detailed description on the strategy methods adopted by the experiment and proposes the theory for the experiment from the angle of cognitive psychology and error analysis in second language. The experimental design is the emphasis of the article which includes experimental objects, procedure, and tools. In the aspects of experimental tools, the compilation basis of background information questionnaire, Chinese character capacity questionnaire and the use frequency of Chinese character component questionnaire are specifically stated and the procedure of training is also explained.The fourth chapter:the analysis of experimental results. This chapter is the core of the article. It adds up the dates received from the questionnaire survey with the SPSS software system and analyzes it one by one with the theory about the cognitive psychology and component strategy; it respectively investigates the influence the Chinese level and the strategy training have on the use of component learning strategy. Moreover, it investigates the interaction among the Chinese level, strategy training and the training content. The outcome of study shows that the strategy training has the positive significance because it gives the obvious help to improve the students'Chinese capacity as well as the awareness of using the component.The fifth chapter:conclusion. This chapter generalizes the solutions for the problems in the article and points out the deficiencies existed in the experiment and proposes the assumptions for the further study.
