Affiliation motivation is a kind of social motivation developed on the basis of affiliation need.human beings are social animals, affiliation need is one of the the basic needs for each person. If the individual's affiliation need is not satisfied, it may directly affect the individual emotions, and even a threat to the survival and development. Thus, affiliation motivation has a very close relationship with the physical and mental health of individuals, and emotional well-being is an important indicator, which can reflects individual's mental health.According to the different degrees of awareness, affiliation motivation can be divided into implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation. At present, foreign researchers carried out various studies around the implicit affiliation motivation,explicit affiliation motivation and their interaction with the well-being. A large number of studies have revealed some of the phenomena and laws, but also left many questions and gaps. Particularly, there are a lot of controversies in the relationship with the consistency of implicit,explicit affiliation motivation and well-being. In China, the study on affiliation motivation is almost in the blank state, not to mention the researches of implicit, explicit affiliation motivation and the relationship with the well-being.This paper has been based on the previous studies by others at home and abroad, through the revision on the foreign Affiliation Motivation Questionnaire and the self-developed measure of Implicit Association Test(IAT),choosing college students as subjects, we investigated the relation between implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation,the relationship between implicit, explicit affiliation motivation and emotional well-being,and the influence of the consistency of implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation on college students'emotional well-being.Through this study, the paper obtained the following conclusions:(1) There is a significant difference between implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation for Chinese college students.That means,the implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation are two separate motivational systems. (2) There is no significant gender difference between implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation for college students.(3) There is a significant correlation between explicit affiliation motivation and emotional well-being, while there is no significant correlation between implicit affiliation motivation and emotional well-being, but the implicit affiliation motivation can adjust the influence of the explicit affiliation motivation to emotional well-being.(4)) Overall, there is a significant negative correlation between the consistency of implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation and emotional well-being,while students of different combinations of the implicit and explicit affiliation motivation, there is a difference between the consistency of affiliation motivation and emotional well-being. In the group of explicit affiliation motivation is higher than implicit affiliation motivation group, there is a significant correlation between the consistency of implicit affiliation motivation and explicit affiliation motivation and emotional well-being; In the group of explicit affiliation motivation is lower than implicit affiliation motivation,the consistent between explicit affiliation motivation and implicit affiliation motivation isn't correlate with college students' emotional well-being.(5) For different combinations' college students of the implicit and explicit affiliation motivation, there is a significant difference of their emotional well-being:The emotional well-being of college students whose explicit affiliation motivation is significantly higher than implicit affiliation motivation is higher than the emotional well-being of college students whose explicit affiliation motivation is lower than implicit affiliation motivation.(6) The emotional well-being of college students which in the consistent group of explicit affiliation motivation and implicit affiliation motivation are significantly higher than the emotional well-being of college students which in the inconsistent group of explicit affiliation motivation and implicit affiliation motivation.
