On Female Images In Yan Lianke's Works

After more than thirty years novel writing, Yan Lianke fells full of love for his hometown and he pays much attention to the ordinary peasants who live there. He not only reveals the barren patch of land, the backward of the living environment, but more importantly, he also thinks deeply about the living and survival problem in a critique of a modern angle. This paper starts from the female images in his works, through an analysis in the female characters, we find he discusses his concern to the poor people's living problems and the criticism of human nature. At the same time, by thinking on the background of Heluo culture, grasping the writer's creative intent and creative psychology, as to form the point, reach a much accurate and deeper degree into the reinterpretation of his works and a more in-depth understanding of the author's feminism.The main paper is divided into three parts:Chapter one illustrates the roles which women plays their whole lives, daughters, wives(lovers) and mothers, then analysis the different types of feminine images. The author thinks that the daughter image has independent quality, the wife (lover) image has a quality of brilliant and virtuous, the mother image has hardworking and tough quality. Different women roles carried different historical obligations, female characters also transform from simple to complex, from single to stereoscopic, the life value changes from only for ourselves to others and future generations.Chapter two, in the process of expression in female's interpretation in Yan Lianke's novels, we found that the model of the women's characters has archetypes, for example, the archetype of Nv Wa's is sacrifice and dedicated spirit, the archetype of Bai Suzhen's is good and beautiful quality, the archetype of Medea's is fierce retaliation character. Through these archetypes, on one hand,we can find out the writer's subjective orientation, for example,moral appeal and aesthetic ideal, on the other hand, it can convey people in a real life all expect and pursuit the traditional excellent quality in female's character. Chapter three then analyzes the cultural causes of Yan Lianke's feminism, the reason that Yan Lianke shapes such feminine stems from the influence in his youth experience, the influence of Heluo culture and the construction of individual ideal feminine in his novels.Finally, it can conclude that there are many "virgin" images in Yan Lianke's novels, on one hand, Yan Lianke as a male, it is the expectation and control on women, on the other hand, Chinese culture needs such kind of women's existence, it is also the survival foundation for women in patriarchal society. As to another kind of image who dare to challenge the male-dominated world, Yan Lianke denounces those women twisted perversion while praises their self-awareness. With the development of the epoch, women play a more important role in social development, they find their own stage in the society, and as "half of the sky", women's role will be taken more and more attention.
