The book of Rites is a classic in the beginning of Confucianism.Including fourty-nine chapters,it was not writed by one person.These Chapters reflect a history which begine an earlier generation of the Qin dynasty to the Qin dynasty and the Han dynasty.The history is a unceasingly developed process.The chapters of the book of Rites don't compose an intact system,but the theory of philosophy(the theory of relation between heaven and man,the theory of ghosts and gods,the theory of human nature and so on),the theory of politics(rule of rites,rule of virtue,rule of man),ethics(filial piety,bing good brother,kindness,love),outlook of education of the chapters have intently relationship.My thesis can't be writed all the theory,just involving in the theme of "the theory of rites"and "the ideology of bing perfect man"to expound the book of Rites. "The theory of rites" and "the ideology of being perfect man"have closely relationship.Rites are tools to restraint and instruct man.Moreover if one person want to be a perfect man,except the action of rites,he should strive himself(study and self-cultivation),and achieve a high moral integrity.In the book of Rites,man is classified three levels which are villain,strange man,gentleman,sage.To be gentleman and sage,the authors of the book of Rites expounded those man's concrete contents which are the theory of quality.The theory of quality contains the theory of macroscopic quality and the theory of microcosmic quality.Moreover the authors of the book of Rites expounded the theory of man's valuation which is expression of the theory of quality.We can say,through rites restrainting and man's striving,the authors of the book of Rites want to make people achieve a result of being perfect man.Confucianism attend to to application the theory in politics area,which is rule of rite,rule of man and rule of virtue,they are trinity.
