In today's society, as people living standard rise, life rhythm speeding up, people's consumption concept is changing gradually nowadays. Consumers lay emphasis on appreciation of art ware increasing. Art dainty appearance and modeling raised this art in people idea of a value.Floral art is put flower in bottles, plates, basin and other containers. It is not to plant in these containers. Inserting into a beautiful form is to express a theme and convey a feeling and taste. People look after the feast for the eyes, the spirit, beauty and pleasure. Floral art and design is one of the art design themes which has been widespread concerned about. And it also add color to people's lives. Because of its varied, or end elegant, or beautiful, or clean, it has been widely used in the life and career choice to beautify the living environment and improve living quality.Floral shape and feeling can be created mainly by virtue of their experience handed down long-term. In order to achieve the innovative art and design, the designer need to open ideas and try to tap the creative inspiration. How to tap the creative inspiration and innovation have become a key of art design. This paper attempted to study genetic algorithm and use the replacement of iterations to achieve more designs to open the designer's ideas and achieve innovation of art design.The work is mainly done as follows:1. on the detailed study of floral art designFloral art design has been studied for many years. There are a lot of flower arranging conception, design, structure and other aspects of research in its development process. This paper mainly studies the following four aspects: the historical development of Chinese floral art; floral art and design's purpose and techniques; Western floral art design profile; Oriental Floral Art Design.2. Floral art selection classification study based on clustering algorithmFloral art design is a process of choosing a variety of flowers and combination of the various flowers. Obviously different flowers may bring different results. And as some flowers are similar, the effect it brings is similar. In the process of flower arranging, it as far as possible to choose a class, not to repeat the selection, so it is necessary to divide the types of flowers. Clustering is process of dividing data set into several groups or categories and makes the same data objects within a group have high similarity and different groups of data objects not similar. Similar or dissimilar is usually used to describe by metric distance. This paper combined genetic algorithm and k-medoids algorithm method to make cluster studies for the raw materials of floral art design to distinguish between different types of flowers.3. In essence, flower arrangement is a combination of various issues to achieve the desired effect, which is the kind of optimization, so the flower arrangement is a combinatorial optimization problem. The genetic algorithm is used to solve combinatorial optimization problems which have been proved to be an effective method in the application of combinatorial optimization. This paper applied genetic algorithm to flower arranging. And the paper studies on the art of design from coding, initial population of production, and the design of fitness function, the realization of selection operator, crossover operator and mutation operator realization of the realization of other aspects.4. Flowers of feature selection and the establishment of the fitness functionsTo flower cluster, we must select the appropriate features to achieve good clustering results first. The paper selected the nine characteristics as the main features of the flower. In the process of genetic algorithm, fitness function value is an important aspect to measure the individual quality which is very important for genetic algorithm. This paper established the fitness function suitable for flower arrangement art designed.
