After the middle of the nineteenth century, with the disintegration of the feudal system in China, the Confucianism was declining .China is facing the critical situation of national subjugation and racial extinction. At this time, Kang Youwei perceived to be bearing the task of the history. At the early twentieth century, Kang began to reflect on his previous philosophy, and fix self-awareness; he carried out on a new interpretation of Confucian classics systematically. In two years, Kang Youwei Completed five Confucian classics books of interpretation: The Note Of Mean (1901), The Note Of Li Yun(1901-1902),The Note Of Analects(1902),The Note Of Da Xue(1902)The Note Of Mencius(1902).This paper describes the overview of these works, and analyzes the new ideas of these works. And summarized Kang's interpretation of the traditional Confucian classics have shown evolutionary thinking, democratic ideals, equality and freedom of thought and the thinking of modern economic thought and other features.Then the paper analysis the features of Kang's books. From the perspectives of the interpretation path, Kang interpretation of the Confucian classics can be regarded as seeking "intent"and seeking "motives" of the Unified. From the perspective of interpretation of this means, this paper argues that Kang used the term"comment and exert" approach. From the perspective of the style characteristics of interpretation, Kang often accords to his own purposes to creative. And he used many Western words, and Buddhism words.Then this paper analyzes the causes of those characteristics. Summarized the five-point: The first, the basis of Confucianism; the second, the impact of Western; the third, the impact of background; the fourth, Kang's personal characters; the fifth, the modern features of the Confucian classics.Finally, this paper made the evaluation with Kang's books. Kang's interpretation of the Confucian classics although arbitrary, far-fetched and analogy, but his efforts and the effects of the Confucian classics to the modern, we should not be overlooked.
