Chinese Characters Critique Of "research

There were many experts and works in the study of Chinese philology which runs longer than 2000 years. In recent years, some researchers took advantages of archaeological discoveries, Oracle and Bronze to reinterpret original meanings of Chinese characters. At the same time, some people advocated their own theory by"criticize Xushen". Tang Han is one of them. In the past years, Tang Han has published a lot of philological works, including the Code of Chinese character, Tang Han Analyzes Chinese Characters, the Discovery of Chinese Character and the Criticism of Chinese Philology. Mass media propagated Tang Han and said that he is a dare young scholar whom with the backbones to challenge Xushen and Guo moruo. Although the mass media promoted Tang Han without no exaggerations, the academic field of Philology has been kept in silence to Tang Han and his theory.Through studies concept, research methods and explanations of Chinese character in the representative of the Criticism of Chinese Philology, we look forward to find out innovative ingredients and drawbacks co-existed in young scholars'research expecting to know how these theories influence our research on Philology. We will tell the reasonable parts of the theory from mistakes which ought to be exposed, and give fair evaluation to the insightful and logical ideas. Based on researches above, we make an appeal to the contends of schools and thoughts in academic study. We suggest that we must not only reform the methods of the study of Chinese philology, but also reform our attitude and notion toward research. Current studies on specialized books of philology mainly focused on the classical writings of the authorities in this discipline, however, rarely can we find the research based on the literatures of regular scholars. The main innovation of this article is the selection of the writings of common scholar in current philology as the target of academic criticism. This paper is organized in four sections: The first part is Introduction which outlines Tang Han and his works, incorporating writing motivations and research principles; the second part is to research the philological theories of Tang Han according to his book : the Criticism of Chinese philology; the third part is to summarize the shortcomings of the philological theory of Tang Han, and recognize fully his reasonable parts while clarifying our attitude about Tang Han; in the final part, we will put forward reform propositions according to the universal problems in the study of Chinese philology.
