Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture of three acupoints in front of ears on tinnitus and analyze the proper impact factors during the treatment with the method of multivariate linear stepwise regression, in order to find out the major risk factors, deduce multiple regression equation of clinical prediction, provide objective reference and use it in clinical prediction, and provide scientific bases to evaluate the therapy and its promoting feasibility. Methods:To analyze 120 cases of out-patients with acute and chronic subjective tinnitus (apart from the patients with trauma, surgical trauma and serious mental illness). The Hua Tuo Brand acupuncture needle of 0.30mm in diameter and 40mm in length was selected to give needling at one of the bilateral acupoints of Ermen, Tinggong and Tinghui respectively (any two acupoints could be selected for unilateral tinnitus). The needle was vertically inserted 4 to 4.3 centimeters into the points. The uniform reinforcing-reducing method was employed without getting the needles turned clockwise and counterclockwise or pulled and pushed forcefully to get the local soreness, numbness, distension and pain and to make the acupuncture feelings run into the ear. The ChangCheng KWD-808I therapeutic equipment was connected to the end of the needle and continuous wave was selected with the intensity that patients could endure. The needles were left there for fifteen minutes each time. The treatment was given once a day and twenty times formed a course. One month after the end of treatment, patients were followed up and again assessed the severity of tinnitus. Score the differences before and after treatment, count the therapeutic efficacy and use SPSS13.0 for Windows statistical analysis system to analyze and estimate the impact of clinical factors of tinnitus. Results:Clinical cured:10 cases. Remarkable effects:41cases. Improvement:43 cases. Failure:26 cases. The total effective rate was 78.4%.Conclusion: Electroacupuncture is effective for the treatment of neurogenic t inn it us and the impact factors of clinical efficacy on tinnitus include: patient age, severity and course of tinnitus.
