Lrisquinone is an natural radiosensitizing agents which is extracted from Japanese iris. The actions of Lrisquinone include to arrest bleeding by reducing heat in blood, remove heat-dampness and so on. In order to offer more informations for utilization of Lrisquinone, a brief review is given on the extraction, isolation, chemical constitution, preparation and assay of Lrisquinone.ObjectiveThe topic is to do some research on the Lrisquinone based on the other's study. Effective components that extracted from the Lrisquinone were used to determine chemical refenrence substances of the Lrisquinone in order to solve two difficult problems about chemical refenrence substances of traditional Chinese medicine currently.Methods1. The Lrisquinone was extracted from Japanese iris by 95% ethanol and was purified by Alumina Neutral in the column. Individual chemical component was prepared by preparative liquid chromatography.2. The content of individual chemical component was determined by Mass Balance method and guidance of WHO.3. The content of the Lrisquinone was determined by external standard method with chemical reference substances of Pallasone A and 6-methoxy-2-pentadecyl-1,4-benzoquinone.Result1. Pallasone A and 6-methoxy-2-pentadecyl-1,4-benzoquinone were extracted from Japanese iris.2. A new method of RP was establish in this article. The content of Pallasone A and 6-methoxy-2-pentadecyl-1,4-benzoquinone were 99.6% and 99.3%.3. The assay of Pallasone A and 6-methoxy-2-pentadecyl-1,4-benzoquinone in the Lrisquinone were 81.5% and 10.5%. The Lrisquinone can be used as chemical reference substance to control the quality of preparations of the Lrisquinone.
