The Chemical Composition Of Water-soluble Parts Of The Ground Peach

Urena lobata L.[U.lobata L.var.tomentosa(Bl.) Walp.],the plant of Urena Linn.(Malvaceae),growing in the mountains,by the curb,on the hillsides and in the arid open country and distributes in the tropics all over the world at the elevation of 200～2500.In China,it is rich in the south areas of the Yangtse River,especially Guangxi,Fujian.The medicinal properties were recorded since ancient China.It exhibited antiinflammatory,choleretic,and cardiotonic effects.In India,it was used as diuretic,febrifuge.And in Guangxi and Fujian province it was used to induce labour as an assistant medicine,and was used in the treatment of rheumatism,cough,cold, fever,pain,trauma,tracheitis and so on.Compounds which were isolate from the ethanol part of U.lobata L.include flavonoids from flowers,C₂₇-C₃₃ n-alkanes,β-sitosterol and stigmasterol, triglycerides from the whole plant,furocoumarins,imperatorins from roots and mangiferin from the aerial parts.But the chemical constituents distilled water soluble part of U.lobata L.was not been repoted.In order to find the bioactive principles,we made a study of the chemical constituents in Urena lobata L.In this paper,the distilled water soluble part was chromato-graphed over Ployamide,MCI,ODS column,Sephadex LH-20,then 14 compounds were separated and purified.Those compounds contain 7 flavones,1 alkaloid,3-steroids and others.On the basis of their spectral data(¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR etc.) and chemical evidence,9 of them were identified.They are tiliroside (1),rutin(2),kaempferol -3-O-β-D- glucoside -7-O-β-D- glucose-(2→1)-α-L-rhamnoside (6),stigmasterol(8),kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhamnoside-7-O-β-D-glucoside (9),kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside -7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(10), berberine(11),β-sitosterol(19),daucosterol(21).Among them.compounds 6,9,10,11 are firstly obtained from U.lobata L.
