| Zirconia ceramics have been focused as one of the best candidate materials for all porcelain restoration and fixed partial denture by computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing(CAD/CAM), because of their excellent mechanical properties, hydrothermal phase stability, and biocompatibility. However, Zirconia ceramic is too hard to machined by CAD/CAM. This study is conducted to synthesize the CePO4/TZ-3YB-E ceramics, which is beneficial to the CAD/CAM of porcelain restorations.In this article, research on CePO4 coated TZ-3YB-E and the effect of Ce3+ Concentrati- on,pH values,bathing temperatures and calcining temperatures on the coating results were studied. The morphology and phase form of reaction products and coating results were investi- gated by TEM,SEM and XRD.The powers were first dry pressed in mould under pressure of 2 MPa, then cold isostatic pressed under pressure of 200 MPa and then the green bodies were sin- tered separately at 1300℃~1600℃.At last,the mechanical and machinable properties were measured.The experimental results showed that using precipitation processing method , the CePO4 could be coated on ZrO2 powders at 50℃. After calcination at 1000℃, t-ZrO2 and m-CePO4 could be obtained.Then were pressed through dry and cold isostatic pressing, sintered at 1000℃. By the comparison of the mechanical and machinable properties before and after coated,we could conclude that the CePO4/TZ-3YB-E ceramic after coated has m- uch better machinable property .But the material has good machinability as well as maintaining outstanding mechan- ical properties.
