In 1965,Lauren divided gastric cancer into intestinal type and diffuse type according to the tissue structure and the biological behavior. This classification not only reflect the biological behavior of the tumors, but also the cause, mechanism and the epidemiological characters. The intestinal type has longer course, higher morbidity and is more common during old males.Well the diffuse type is on the contrary. The aim of this study is to compare the biological behavior and epidemiological characters of the two types.Objective:1.to compare the differences of clinical characters and biological behavior between intestinal type and diffuse type;2.to compare the immunohistochemical differences of the two types in order to confirm that whether the immunohistochemical markers now we use in gastric cancer can identify the two types.Methods:1.collect the pathological section of gastric cancer diagnosed by huashan hospital during 2008.11-2009.2 and divide them into intestinal type and diffuse type according to the WHO criteria;2.compare the differences of age, gender, location, infiltrate deep and lymphonodus metastasis;3.compare the positive rate of immunohistochemical markers between the two types. Results:This study has collect 100 pathological sections of gastric cancer totally, in which intestinal type 46(male 36,female 10),diffuse type 42(male 28,female 14), mixed type 9(male 7,female 2);the disparity of sexual distribution of the three types is not statistically significant(0.25<P<0.5).The disparity of average age of the three types is not statistically significant(t=1.620,v=86,P>0.05).The disparity of tumorous distribution in stomach of the three types is not statistically significant(0.25<P<0.5). The disparity of tumorous infiltration of the three types is not statistically significant (0.25<P<0.5).The disparity of the amount of lymphatic metastasis is statistically significant(0.025<P<0.05).CK is all positive in three types, and VIM,LCA,ChroA, SY are all negative in three types. The disparity of average positive rate of Ki67 of the three types is not statistically significant. The disparity of average positive rate of P53 of the three types is not statistically significant. Conclusion:The disparity of sexual distribution, average age, tumorous distribution in stomach and tumorous infiltration of the three types is not statistically significant;the disparity of the amount of lymphatic metastasis is statistically significant. All the immunohistochemical markers our hospital uses in gastric cancer can not identify the two types.
