Mandibular First Molar With Longitudinal Fractures Dimensional Finite Element Analysis

Objective:Establishing a finite-element model of the fracture tooth of mandibular first molar.To evalute the change of the stress distribution of different treatments and compared with that of normal tooth.Providing direction of clinical treatment theoretically in mechenobiologic.Method:The mandibular first molar was scanned and the images were analyzed.The three dimensional finite element model of the fracture tooth of mandibular first molar was been established by the software. The stress distribution in two types of loading material on the vertical fractured mandibular first molar was studied in three dimensional finite element method.The fractured line of the model was respectively filled with Clearfil SE Bond or Super Bond C&B;and vertical and lateral stress force was calculated.The restoration of metal crown was been imitated on the model of the Clearfil SE Bond adhensive fractured tooth;and vertical and lateral stress force was calculated.Result:The FEM of the fracture tooth of mandibular first molar was been established.The total number of elements and nodes created were 4834 and 3971.The result of the FEM study of adhesive fractured tooth indicated that the stress distribution was similar to that of normal tooth,Clearfil SE Bond is better than Super Bond C＆B.The largest stress was appeared on the metal crown after restoration.Conclusion:The FEM of the fracture tooth of mandibular first molar can be established by computerized tomography and the finite element method. The outcomes of the study inditate that the treatment of bonding and replantation for vertical fractured tooth is effective.The adhesive should be chosen that the elastic medulus is the same as dentin.The crown restoration is very important to the fratured tooth treatment.
