Purpose: By investigating snoring symptom of the students in Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, the current condition of snoring for young people in Changchun area can be known. This paper will analyze the related risk factors which caused by snoring, and increase people's awareness to snoring, which will help to prevent and cure the disease for adolescence.A sample survey is done on 906 students of 6 majors in 4 grades with ages between 17 and 27 in Changchun University of Chinese Medicine from May to July in the year 2007 who have been checked and required to fill out the questionnaires which serve as the epidemiologic material for snoring, 890 proved to be valid and the data has been statistically analyzed with software SPSS 13.0.Result: Through investigation and accounting. 48.2 % students have snoring symptom. among whom 8.76 % students snore frequently. According to Logistic regression analysis, the risk factors for snoring include, grade, BMI, sleeping posture, mental status, tea drinking. alcohol drinking,the percentage between vegetables and meat in diet, character, himantosis. narrow nasal cavity, hypertrophy of tonsil.Conclusion: Snoring is caused by many factors related to some living habits and several diseases. In this paper, 11 main factors are proved to be influencing, including age, grade, weight, BMI, sleep time, sleep quality index, sleeping posture, mental status, amount of exercise, tea drinking, alcohol drinking, smoking, the percentage between vegetables and meat in diet, mood, relationship between classmates, self-confidence, character, himantosis, narrow nasal cavity, hypertrophy of tonsil.People of middle and old ages suffers from snoring in most cases, but through the epidemiologic research of university students, people's awareness can be improved and some bad living habits can be corrected in time so as to prevent and cure the disease precautiously.
