The bryophyte is a specil types of botany and more than 23000 species are known in the world,which account for the world plant total 5%.The bryophytes are divided into three from taxology angle,that they part for is:Hornworts(Anthocerotae);Liverworts(Hepaticae); Mosses(Musci or bryatae).Many compounds with novel skeletons or significant bioactivities have been obtained from mosses and liverworts,some of which are nice lead compounds in new drug research.Studies of the bryophyte indicate that the bryophyte is one of the most important treature of the biologically active compounds.In this paper,we had done some chemical research on the Polytrichum Commune and thirteen compounds had been isolated.On the basis of their chemical and physical properties and IR,MS,NMR spectral analysis,thirteen compounds had been identified.These tructures were deduced to be as following:diploptene(Ⅰ),octacosanoic acid methylester(Ⅱ), octacosanoic acid butyl ester(Ⅲ),octacosanoic acid pentyl ester(Ⅳ),β-sitosterol(Ⅴ), octacosanoic acid octadecanyl ester(Ⅵ),eicosanoic acid nonadecyl ester(Ⅶ), n-tetratriacontanol(Ⅷ),n-octacosanol(Ⅸ),trioctacosoate hydroxypropyl(Ⅹ),sigmasterol(Ⅺ), 5,7-dihydroxy-4'-methoxy-3'-acetylflavone(Ⅻ),3-Oxo-30-carbomethoxy Olean-12,18-dien-28-oic acid(ⅩⅢ).All of these compounds were isolated from this species for the first time.And we had done some chemical research on the Polytrchum juniperinum Willd and six compounds had been isolated.On the basis of their chemical and physical properties and IR, MS,NMR spectral analysis,five compounds had been identified.Theses tructures were deduced to be as following:heptacosane(Ⅰ),octacosanoic acid methylester(Ⅱ), octacosanoic acid octadecanyl ester(Ⅲ),octacosanol(Ⅳ),sigmasterol(Ⅴ).All of these compounds were isolated from this species for the first time.
