Gang Plum Leaf Chemical Composition

To study the chemical constituents of the leaves of Ilex asprella for reveal the active components for their further development.The compounds were isolated by chromatographyon silica gel columns and identified on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectralanalysis. Twenty-seven compounds were obtained and sixteen compounds were identified.One of these compounds is a novel compound:3α,19α-dihydroxy-olean-12-ene-23,28-dioic-acid-28-O-β-D-glu copyranoside(16).15 compounds which were identified as the known properties are rotundioic acid(1),2α,3β,19α-trihydroxy-urs-12-ene-23,28-dioic acid(2),2α,3β,19α-trihydroxy-olean-12-ene-23, 28-dioic acid(3),ursolic acid(4),3β-[(α-L-arabinopyranosyl)oxy]19α-hydroxy-urs-12-ene-28-oicacid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(5), 3β-[(α-L-arabinopyranosyl)oxy]-19α-hydroxyl-olean-12-ene-28-oic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(6),3α,19α-dihydroxy-urs-12-ene-24,28-dioic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7), 2α,3β,19α-trihydroxy-urs-12-ene-24,28-dioic-28-O-β-D-gluco pyrano side(8),kaempferol(9),kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside(10),rutin(11),(E)-2,6-dimethyl-6-by droxylocta-2,7-diene-1-O-glucopyranoside(12),balanophonin(13),β-sitosterol(14),daucosterol (15).Among them,compounds 1-10,12 and 13 were isolated from the Ilex asprella for the first time.The results of this research will be useful for the further studies on chemical constitue nts,the quality standards of this plant herbs.
