Objiective To probeinto the mechanism inthe effect of twodifferent therapies about nourishing yin cooling heat and activing bloodstream to the blood vascular endothelial cell (VEC) of the type 2 diabetesmellius(T2DM) rat.Methods Imitated the model rats of T2DM induced by streptozotocin(STZ) and high calori, high glucose, high fat diet. Apart from the normalcontrol group, all the model rats were randomly divided into eight groupsnamely the pathology group, the Glenn group, the high dose Salviamiltiorrhiza, the middle dose Salvia miltiorrhiza, the low dose Salviamiltiorrhiza, the high dose Rehmannia, the middle dose Rehmannia, thelow dose Rehmannia. observe the therapeutic effects of nourishing yincooling heat and activing blood stream to the VEC of the T2DM rat whichhad been treated six weeks away. Use the superior blood sugar instrumentof Roche Diagnostics to detect the fasting blood glucose (FBG),simultaneously take notes of the T2DM rats' body weight; use theradio-immunity (RI) method to detect the insulin (Ins) of the T2DM rats;use the RI method to detect the blood endothelin (ET) of the T2DM rats;use the nitrate reductase (NR) method to detect the blood nitric oxide (NO)of the T2DM rats; use the H-600 transmission electron-microscope(TEM)of Hitachi to observe the ultramicrostructure of the VEC of the T2DM rat.Results The two different therapies about nourishing yin cooling heatand activing blood stream all could lighten the T2DM rats' symptoms, (1)The two different therapies all could increase the T2DM rats' bodyweight (P<0.01),the effect of the therapy of nourishing yin cooling heat wasbetter than the other one(P<0.05); (2) The therapy of nourishing yin coolin- g heat could obviously cut down the blood glucose content (P<0.01),but the therapy of activing blood stream could not obviously cut downthe blood glucose content(P>0.05), The therapy of nourishing yin coolingheat could obviously improve the Ins content(P<0.05), but the therapy ofactiving blood stream could not improve the Ins content(P>0.05); (3)Thetwo different therapies all could cut down the blood ET content(P<0.01), theeffect of the therapy of nourishing yin cooling heat was better than the otherone(P<0.05), The two different therapies all could cut down the bloodNO content (P<0.05), there was no between them(P>0.05); (4)The twodifferent therapies all could give the protection of different degrees tothe ultramicrostmcture of the VEC.Conclusion The two therapies, nourishing yin cooling heat and activ-ing blood stream,all could give the protection of different degree to the ultr-amicrostructure of the VEC, and cut down vasoactive substance ET andNO's content, and so they all could also lighten the fierce vascular contracteffect of ET and the toxic effect of NO, finally reach the destination of curi-ng vascular disease of T2DM. but there were different ways against them.For the therapy of nourishing yin cooling heat, it could cut down the ETand NO's content probably through cuting down the blood glucose contentand improving the Ins content to protect VEC. as far as the therapy of activ-ing blood stream, it could cut down the ET and NO's content, maybe throughdirectly putting an act on the cells which gave gout ET or NO.
