It is a hotspot for tumor treatment research to look for safe and effective anti-tumor drugs from traditional Chinese herbal medicine. It is true that TCM had a valuable resource of traditional herb, prescription, and therapeutics.In the view of traditional Chinese medicine, the reason of neoplasm derives from several kinds, such as qistagnancy and blood stasis, emotional depression, blockage of meridian, inner invasion of pathogens and etc. and the therapy of traditional Chinese medicine mainly depends on regulating viscera, activating meridians, promoting blood circulation and diminishing stagnation by detoxification and so on. And modern research revealed that many traditional herbs had remarkable effects on anti-tumor through kill tumor cell lines directly or activating immune function, and reached the aim of inhibiting the growth of tumor and the prolonging the lifespan of the tumor sufferer.The objective of this experimentation is to investigating the therapeutic effect of compound Yujin tablet (a kind of preparation of traditional Chinese medicine) on tumor and on immune system of mice with transplant tumors, and its acute and chronic toxicity. The methods: the tumor inhibited rate of S₁₈₀ an ECA transplanted tumor and the life prolonging rate of EAC and S₁₈₀ tumor-carrying mice were investigated to evaluate the inhibitory effect of compound Yujin tablet on cancerous rats. Results: contrasted with control group, the results of anti-tumor effects revealed the tablet would inhibit the transplanted tumor growth of S₁₈₀, EAC, remarkably, which showed a dose-dependent effect, and revealed the tablet could improve the mouse immunity system.Conclusion: Compound Yujin Tablet can inhibit S₁₈₀and Esc growth at various extents. And these result indicated that its anti-tumor effect may be related to its potent effect on immunological responses of organism.
