| In this research 7 compounds were isolated from Momordica Charantia L. by modern technologies of extraction, isolation, purification, identification, such as macroporous absorption resin(MAR), silica gel-column chromatography. The structures of 5 compounds have been established and identified on the basis of physico-chemical and spectrographic evidence. They were the aglycone of mordicoside F1, the aglycone of charantin, the aglycone of mordicosideâ… , charantin,β-sitosterol. For the first time, compound I is found as the novel natural product in this plant, and compoundâ…¡is found in this piant in China. The optimum extraction and purification conditions of Momordica Charantia L. were determined by the orthogonal test and the content of total saponins withβ-sitosterol as index was detected by the UV spectrophotometry so as to enhance the content of total saponins obviously. The research detected the content of the aglycone of mordicosideâ… in Momordica Charantia L. by HPLC. And the results show that the content are highest in the sample of guangdong province. Through the pharmacologieal experiments the results prove that the total saponins of Momordica Charantia L. exhibit a significant hypoglycemic activity on hyperglycemia mouse induced by adnephrin and no effect on the blood sugar of normol mouse... |
