Pericardial Effusion In 20 Cases,

Twenty cases about pericardial effusion in the first affillet hospital of ZheJiang universisty are collected in the article. According to the disease history, the examination result, treating course and the prognosis, the pathogeny, diagnose method and misdiagnose are analysed. In this group of cases, the causes of pericardial effusion included tumor(20.0%), tuberculosis(20.0%), heart failure(15.0%), nonspecific causes(15.0%), hypothyroidism(15.0%), others causes and diagnosis unknown(15.0%). The echocardiography is the most popular method of confirming the cause of pericardial effusion. Pericardialcentesis and pericardial extended catheter drainage are proper ways to save the patients who have the symptomatic of pericardial effusion and cardiac tamponade. The prognosis of the pericardial effusion caused by tumor is worse, when the prognosis of the pericardial effusion caused by tuberculosis and hypothyroidism is better. In conclusion tumor and tuberculosis were the leadingcauses of pericardial effusion. The major misdiagnosis cause was tuberculosis .
