Carex meyeriana Kunth is the whole plant of Cyperaceae and Carex.lt can keep warm and dehumidify.The shoe pads, waist supports and mattess made by Carex meyeriana Kunth could keep warm, acesodyne and have antibacterial activities.They can cure athlete's foot and rheumatism assistantly by long-life performance.The reports on Carex meyeriana Kunth are concentrate on appliance,but the study of chemical constituents and pharmacological actions are much less.The research have analyzed the chemical constituents of Carex meyeriana Kunth,first got luteolin from mis kind of plant;studied the extraction method of its volatile oil;first established HPLC and GC methods for the separation and determination of the chemical constituents for the quality control of Carex meyeriana Kunth; Studied on volatile oil from Carex meyeriana Kunth in Vitro Antibacterial Activities.(1) Studied on the extraction method and structural identification of luteolin from Carex meyeriana KunthA flavonoid compound was isolated by MeOH extraction,polyamide column chromatography separation and preparation liquid chromatography purification.The structure was identified as luteolin by the four spectrums.. This is the first gained luteolin isolated from the plant. (2 ) Established an HPLC method for the separation and determination of luteolin for the quality control of Carex meyeriana Kunth.The optimum extraction condition was investigated by the orthogonal design.The optimal technological conditions obtainedradding 30 folds of methanol,3 times of extracting and 1.5 h for every time. Luteolin.was separated by KromasilCig(5 μm,250 × 4.6 mm) column with a mobile phase of methanol-0.2 % phosphoric acid(56:44, PH3 )and detected at a wavelength of 254 nm. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.448.80 μg·mL-1 (r=0.9999 ) .The average recovery was 99.0 % (n=9).
