The scoring system proposed by the Japanese OrthopedicAssociation(JOA) score was used to evaluate the rehabilitation of theneurological function. Results: 11 cases had been followed up , including 4 of one-segment and7 of two-segment , for 13-25 months and for an average of 18 months .Clinical results were excellent in six patients(54. 5%), good in four(36. 4%), fair in one (9%) and poor in zero (0%). The excellent and goodresults Was 82. 8% and the average JOA score increased from 9. 3 to 15. 3post operatively. Conclusions: anterior cervical decompression and bone graft fusion issuitable to the most of one or two-segment cervical spondylotic myelopathypatients. It may not only yield satisfactory clinical results, providereliable fusion but also have the good quality of shorten the time needfor surgical, less blood loss .decrease injuries and complication andspare patients' cost.
