Diabetic arteriosclerosis obliterans of lower extremity is one of the common diabetic complications. In clinically, it manifests intermittent lameness, rest pain, and ischemic sphacelus. And it was considered as " vascular arthralgia, sphacelus" by Professor Yu Shijia who has about twenty years experience in clinical study and scientific research of endocrinism, and so on in TCM. The pathogenesis of it: long term of "XiaoKe" leads to the consumption of Qi and Yin, which leads to stagnation of blood stasis. Stagnation of blood stasis is the root of the disease onset. In treatment, we insist on nourishing Qi and matching the drug for enriching blood and invigorating blood circulation to remove blood stasis. Integrated traditional and western medicine was taken as the key point of clinical treatment. Professor Yu apply the combined therapy as controlling blood glucose, decreasing blood-fat and handling hypertension. At the same time deploy the traditional theory to determinate the treatment based on pathogenesis obtained through differentiation of symptoms and signs. Angiotenic is used to improve the microcirculation; as far as to depress blood viscidity , to inhibit platelet aggregation, and to protect the vascular endothelial cell and emolliate atheromatous plaque. Well ,the most efficient way is to distend blood vessel and establish the bypass circuit in order to improve the blood supply of the lower limbs.
