Ganoderma lucidum are famous medicinal edible fungus with special nutritional and medicinal value. Triterpenoid is one of main bioactive compounds of Ganoderma lucidum; selenium is essential to human body. Both of them have the function of prevention and treatment of many diseases. In this paper, it was reviewed that the recent research advanced on chemical structures,pharmacologica studies of triterpeniods from Ganoderma lucidum and on function of selenium containing compounds. This experiment, for the first time, proposes to combine the triterpenoid and selenium into selenium containing triterpenoid organically and to make them have the optimum functions.First, the method of quantitative of triterpenoid in mycelia of Ganoderma lucidum were established. The contents of triterpenoid in mycelia in Ganoderma lucidum were estimated using the colorimetric method of vanillin perchloric acid under the conditions of oleanolic acid as a standard. To evaporate sample solvent(chloroform), the sample residue was reacted with 0.3ml 5%(w/v) vanillin in glacial acetic acid and 1.0ml perchloric acid at 70°C in water bath for 25 minutes, the optical density was measured at 550 nm.Second, selenium containing mycelium of Ganoderma lucidum could be obtained by biotransformation. The results showed that Ganoderma Lucidum could grow normally in the improved PDA culture added with Na2SeO3 at the concentration of 400μg/g, and the harvest rate of mycelium was about 1%. The mycelia were exstracted with ethanol and chloroform, and raw selenium containing triterpenoids (rSeGT) were obtained. The harvest rate of rSeGT was about 3.97%. Then the raw selenium containing triterpenoid were isolated and purified by silicagel column chromatography, the four sub-fractions of raw selenium containing triterpenoid (SeGT1, SeGT2, SeGT3, SeGT4) were obtained and the content of selenium of seriese SeGTs were different, the SeGTi was highest fraction, it was 21.03%.Next, the anticancer activities of ethanol extracts(EEG), raw selenium containing triterpenoid (rSeGT) and all other sub-fraction (SeGT1, SeGT2, SeGT3, SeGT4) were...
