Simo decoction is recorded in Edit Newly Yan' Prescription of Save People, it composed of Radix Aucklandiae, Fructus Aurantii Limmaturus, Radix Linderae and Pericarpium Arecae has the effect of regulating the flow of qi to alleviate dyspnea, helping digest to alleviate pain. It was used widely for dyspepsia and anorexia in clinic. In order to improve its therapeutic effect and make it using easily, and research the mutual influence among the compounds of the preparation during extraction, naringin as one of principal components in the prescription was isolated and identified, we also compared the content of naringin after extracting Fructus Aurantii Limmaturus alone and together with other drugs of the preparation. According to result, the preparation progress, quality standard, stability and elementary pharmacology were studied by using naringin as examination index, which provided scientific foundation for Simotang chewable tablet.A crystal was isolated from preparation by using D101 column chromatography and middle pressure silicagel column chromatography, dissolved with some water, placed in cool environment, a flaxen acicular crystal was found. We could identify it was naringin with IR,¹H-NMR and ¹³C-NMR date, melting-point and qualitative analysis afford further proof. A comparison was made between two extraction methods of Fructus Aurantii Limmaturus, As a result, the extraction yield of naringin increased when Fructus Aurantii Limmaturus was extracted together with other drugs of the prescription, which indicated other compounds have the mutual solubilization action for naringin during the extraction.The optimum extraction method was selected by the orthogonal test design. We found that the best extract naphtha process was distilling for 3 hours with 6 times amount of water by using naphtha yield as index, the optimum extraction method was decocted with 8 times amount water for two times, 0.5 hours for each time, and the optimum alcohol deposition process was deposited with 75% alcohol in the 20℃ environment for 12 hours by using naringin content as index.
