Objective: To observe the function and mechanism of combination treatment of the Chinese Compound Prescription—JianPiChuShiGuShenTang and 5—HT3 receptor antibody on how to influence the gastrointestinal side effect of cancer chemotherapy on rats by using cisplation.Method: Select SD rat as the rat model of gastrointestinal side effected with chemotherapy, and randomly divide the rats into normal group, model control group, control group of Western medicine, control group of combination treatment of traditional and western medicine. The four groups were given corresponding treatment for four days. Through observing every group rats' common state (including abnormal diet addiction) , 5 -HT and DA content in Brainstem, EGF level in blood, 5-HT expression in duodenum. Results: First, the abnormal changes have appeared in all the groups accepted chemotherapy as to the indices above. Second, combination treatment of traditional and Western medicine can ameliorate SD rats' common state and the damage of chemotherapy to weight, diet and gastrointestinal mucosa , at the same time, it can restrain the content of 5-HT and DA content in Brainstem, as well as 5-HT expression in duodenum. Combination treatment of traditional and Western medicine also can raise EGF level in blood. Conclusions: SD rat can be applied as the experimental model of gastrointestinal side effect caused by chemotherapy. Combination treatment of the Chinese Compound Prescription— JianPiChuShiGuShenTang and 5-HT3 receptor antibody can be benefit to the SD rats accepted chemotherapy from many links, such as the whole body, the organ, the cell, and so on.
