OBJECTIVE: To observe effects of Electroacupuncture at Neiguan point on theexpressions of SR ryanodine receptor 2 mRNA and the activity of SERCA, andinvestigate the protective mechanism of electroacupuncture on the myocardial cell ofmyocardial Posiischemic and reperfusion injury models of rabbits.METHODS: 40 healthy adult rabbits were randomly divided into 4groups: controlgroup, ZIR group, EA at Neiguan group, EA at Gongsun group. The ischemia modelwas made by ligaturing the left anterior descending branch of coronary artery. Theexpressions of cardiac SR ryanodine receptor 2 mRNA were measured with RT-PCR,the activity of SERCA in sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) were examined by chemistrycolorimetry.RESULTS: ryanodin receptor 2 mRNA expression ( IOD ) : control group0.56±0.18,ZIR group 0.82±0.20,EA at Neiguan group 0.61±0.15,EA at Gongsungroup 0.78±0.21. The activity of SERCA in sarcoplasmic reticulum: control group13.014; ZIR group 5.084; EA at Neiguan group 11.611; EA at Gongsun group 7.722.control and Neiguan group compare with ZIR group P<0.05, control group comparewith Gongsun group P<0.05.CONCLUSION: Electroacupunture could increase the activity of SERCA in sarcoplasmic reticulum and decrease the expressions of cardiac SR ryanodine receptor 2mRNA, then play a protective role in some degree after myocardial ischemia andreperfusion injury.
