OBJECTIVE: To analyse the influence of using Traditional Chinese Medicine of fortifying the spleen and supplemet Qi to improve the quality of life of tumor patients of later period. METHODS: The study was a reviewing trial. 154 tumor patients of later period whose clinical symptoms and Traditional Chinese Medicine was clinical observed. RESULTS: Fatigue, reducing appetite, nausea, vomiting ,abdominal distention, constipation, etc are more frequent symptoms of tumor patients of later period(21.4%—79.9%). That 94 patients used Chinese Medicinal of fortifying the spleen and supplement Qi can improve these symptoms and the quality of life of patients more than half. In these reducing appetite 56.8%,fatigue 65.2%,nausea 60.7%,vomiting 68.4%,abdominal distention 61.5%,contipationg 59.4%.In contrast to no using Chinese Medicine ,the sequence had statistical difference ,P=0.035. CONCLUSIONS: Tumor patients of later period usually have symptoms of gastrointestine. They use Traditional Chinese Medicine of fortifying the spleen and supplement Qi can improve the unhealthy responses of the gastrointestine and the quality of life.
