Xuebi is one of common clinical syndromes.It resuslts from several reasons. Much because of the deficiency both of the spleen and kidney, the deficiency of Qi and blood, and at the same time affected by pathogenic wind and pathogenic cold , the blood vessel is blocked , it is characteristics by Pins and needles of the skin.Its incidence tends to increase gradually with the change of lifestyle and dietary structure in the modern society. It is one of disease and syndromes which endanger the health of the people. It has complicated manifestations. Traditional Chinese medicine and pharmacy therapy is widely concerned as its predominance over comprehensive action resulting from its taking the whole body into consideration.As one ancient name of disease, many doctors and clincians attach great importance to gather relevant materials in order to successive dynasties and can find that cure understanding of the house and clinical experience and manage reference value to the dialectical theory nowadays in successive dynasties.Many doctors and clincians gradually consumate its onset law and main points of syndrome differentiation and summarize comprehensive experience of clinical administration and accumulate plenty of relative literatures during their clinical observation and practical recognition over two thousand years from the pre-Qin to today. After collecting data which is related to xuebi generally, we filtrated, sorted and analyzed it . Historical origin and development and special advance in each dynasty were narrated in the literatures of TCM from pre-Qin to the end of Qing dynasty and characteristics in different phase was retrospected and studied in this article which will be beneficial to make profound exploration on the treatment and use experience for reference and enlighten clinicians.There are five parts in this disquisition. The contents of the first chapter is the first part which determined the definition and many relative disease names of this symptoms existed in the ancient literatures were also listed and analyzed. Xuebi discussed in this disquisition is included in internal medicine. The contents of the second to the five chapter is the core of the disquisition .The second part was mainly divided according to the dynasty into the following phases as the pre-Qin, Han, Jin-Tang, Song-Jin-Yuan, Ming-Qing dynasty and modern times. The third part Is its cure and understanding, clinic use and modem research. The fouth and the five part is that the difference of xuebi and other resemblant diseases, such as xuebi and fengbi, xuebi and xulao and the dependability with the modern medical diseases, the last we put some cases with dependence of xuebi into it .
