Ischemic Necrosis of the Femoral Head (INFH) is a kind of common and difficult disease in orthopaedics, as a result of blood supply of the Femoral Head destroyed by different reasons. During its natural course, many femoral-heads will collapse, resulting in lost function of the hip joint. If the femoral head don't collapse, function of the hip joint will be saved. All in all, early and effective measures preventing the femoral head from collapsing have important sense. The thesis includes two parts: summary and clinical research. There are three articles in the summary part. The first one is about the clinical research development of SARS patients'bone necrosis, introdusing some hospitals'investigating results, controversies on pathogeny, characteristic treatments etc. The second one is about the research development of the pathogenesis of steroid- induced Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head(SANFH), emphatically explaining many famous experts'view about it. The third one introduces the chinese traditional medicine's treatment on INFH.In clinical study part,Objective To find out the best way of predicting collapse of the femoral head . Methods To select 28 patients (49 hips) diagnosed by MRI in 2004. All femoral head didn't collapse at that time. Based on that MRI, All femoral head were predicted by seven methods. Recently, to investigate all femoral head by X-ray. Based on the X-ray result, whether or not have collapsed,to divide into two groups. Using statistics,to test whether masculine- rate of predicting results have markable difference between the two groups. Then using statistics, to analyse the predicting results and investigating results regressively. Results All kinds of predicting results have markable difference. All collapsed femoral heads have large area of necrosis . Regressing equation: Y=0.461 X2 + 0.375 X5 + 0.438 X7 - 0.624(Y:investigating results;X2:signal characteristic ; X5:liquid in hip joint;X7:hyposignal area in the femoral head.) Conclution Enough area of necrosis is the qualification of collapsing. And signal characteristic, liquid in the hip joint and hyposignal area in the femoral head have affinity with collapsing of the femoral head .
