OBJECTIVE: To summarize the relationship between the humoral and celluar immunity and peritoneal and/or pelvic adhesions. And to evaluate the relationship between the humoral and celluar immunity and tubal factor infertility (TFT) by the clinical details.STUDY DESIGN: Summarized eighty documents of the relationship between the immunity and peritoneal and/or pelvic adhesion caused by surgery or infection. And then, we observed 34 subjects of TFI evidenced by hysterosalpingography (HSG) or laparoscopy, and 30 normal adults without evidence of pelvic adhesions served as controls. Serum levels of immunoglobulin G,A,M, C3, C4 and C-reactive protein were determined by Scatter-rat turbidimetric analysis and serum concentrations of T cells using biotin-streptavidin-peroxidase method. All of the patients had undergone the JIE XU THERAPY, that is, the synthesized therapies of Chinese medicine and physical therapy. Blood samples were collected from 12 patients pre-therapeutically and post-therapeutically.RESULTS: The mean concentrations of serum immunoglobulin G, M and CD8+ were higher in patients with pelvic adhesions as compared with control subjects (P less than 0.05 or 0.01). There were significant differences in the mean serum concentrations of C3,C4,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/ CD8+ between the patients and controls (P less than 0.01). The mean levels of serum C-reactive protein were no significant difference between patients and controls (P more than 0.05) . The serum concentrations of post- therapeutic C3, CD4+,CD4+/ CD8+were significantly elevated as compared with pre- therapeutic (P less than 0.05).CONCLUSIONS: These findings demonstrate that there are immunity insufficiencies and unbalance in the patients with TFI. And the JIE XU THERAPY can improve the state of disorder. It's no use determining the serum levels of C-reactive protein in the patients with TFI.
