Objective:To investigate the effect of Wu Zhu Yu on the mouse gut mucosa-associated lymphoid system through the mouse gut mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(GALT) damage model caused by cyclophosphamide. Methods: After treated with 100mg/kg cyclophosphamide for 24 h, the mice were given Wu Zhu Yu decoction orally to detect the number of Payer's patche, and the content of S-IgA in the gut fluid, and the effects on the thymus and spleen exponent. Results: Wu Zhu Yu decoction decreased the number of Payer's patche and the content of S-IgA in the gut fluid in GALT-damaged mice. Though it had no effect on the spleen exponent of GALT-damaged mice, it can increase the thymus exponent. Conclusions: Wu Zhu Yu inhibited the damage of the mouse gut mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue caused by cyclophosphamide, suggesting that Wu Zhu Yu improved the immunity of the gut mucosa, enhance the humoral immunity and cell immunity in local gut mucosa.
