The purpose of the article is to conclude the rules of MRI fore and after the treatment ofpremature ANFH, discuss the clinical evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine in treatingpremature ANFH, hold the evaluation criterion of MRI for Chinese drugs in treatment ofpremature ANFH, and clarify the optimal occasion of Chinese medicine in participating in thetreatment so that the Chinese medicine's treatment and modern medical checking techniquecan be organically bonded together. Methods: 31 hips with early-stage aseptic osteonecrosis (ON) in 17 patients who werereceived into our hospital from December of 2003 to March of 2005 were assigned to takeshengmai chenggu jiaonang. Through measuring the necrotic portion of MRI images(including measuring the index of the necrotic portion angle and area), we can compare thechange of osteonecrosis with 3 months ago and evaluate the effects of shengmai chenggujiaonang in treating SARS premature ANFH. Results:(1) shengmai chenggu jiaonang can obviously diminish the necrotic portion. Two foreign methods both demonstrate good curative effect. The significant difference of index of the necrotic portion angle is P<0.05; the significant difference of index of the necrotic portion area is P<0.01.(2) The aging, pyarthrosis and marrow dropsy are all improved after the patients take shengmai chenggu jiaonang capsules. But there are no staistical discrepancy for P>0.05. Conclusions:(1) Applying MRI to evaluate the curative effect of aseptic osteonecrosis is feasible, MRI can quantify the effect of aseptic osteonecrosis.(2) shengmai chenggu jiaonang can quicken the blood and transform stasis,supplement kidney fortify bone,disperse swelling reliewe pain , diminish the necrotic portion, promote the dead bone's imbibition and new bone's growth and effectively treat the SARS premature ANFH.
