Itching is the common symptom of many diseases of dermatology, the reasons causing itch are numerous and very complicated. In addition, people lack enough understanding to the mechanism of itch for a long time, so it is very difficult to treat pruritus. However, pruritus brings enormous agony to patient's body and mind.Thus, it becomes an important task for dermatologist to find a kind of medication that has a precise effect and patients are willing to accept .The ideal anti-pruritus medicine should be able to block itch by many different ways and has few side effect because of the complicated mechanism of itch and the variety of the mediator of itch .At present, there are mainly anti-histamine drugs, capsaicin, opioid antagonists, 5-HT receptor antagonists and cortex steroid in western medicine for the treatment of pruritus, but these drugs don't always have good curative effect or they have a lot of side effects, so patients aren't willing to accept them and the clinical usage of these drug are limited. Chinese medicine have a long time in the treatment of itch, have a good curative effect and few side effect, and can remove sufferings of patients. The Qxs is just based on traditional Chinese medicine theory and modern science and technology. We find that the Qxs has good efficacy in fighting against pruritus especially in the treatment of pruritus caused by blood deficiency and wing dry through actual clinical observation .In order to identify the pharmacological function of this drug further and offer experiment basis for clinical practice, we have carried on some researches to the relevant pharmacological function of the Qxs according to modern pharmacological knowledge and mechanism of itch. Methods: 1.To identify the Qxs function of anti-blood deficiencyPreparation of the animal model of blood deficiency, then, To observe the influence of the high, middle, low dosage groups of the Qxs on the animal model of blood deficiency in contrast to the model group and the positive group in these aspects, such as the quantity of RBC, the content of Hb, RBC.C3bR and RBC.ICR. 2. To identify the Qxs function of anti-pruritus(1) To prove that the Qxs has this function of reducing the area of wheal caused by histamine and inhibiting the increased vascular permeability caused by histamine through the anti-histamine experiment.(2) To prove that the Qxs can fight against the whole body pruritus induced by dextran through the experiment of whole body pruritus.(3) To prove that the Qxs can stabilize the membrane of mast cell by the experiment of the mast cell degranulation.(4) To prove that the Qxs can inhibit the IV hypersensitivity by reducing the swelling of mice ear induced by DFBN.(5) To prove that the Qxs have good anti-inflammation function by reducing the swelling of mice ear induced by xylolResults:The high and middle dosage groups of the Qxs have the same function of improving the quantity of RBC and the content of Hb of MBD significantly as the positive group. Meanwhile, the high dosage group of the Qxs still can increase the quantity of WBC remarkably. The high and middle dosage groups of the Qxs canimprove the RBC.C3bR of MBD and decrease the RBC.ICR of MBD, but the low dosage group of the Qxs doesn't have this function.The high,middle, low dosage gpups of the Qxs can reduce the times and duration of pruritus caused by dextran, and there don't exist significantly differentiations between the high, middle,low dosage grbups of the, Qxs and thepositive group.The high, middle,low dosage groups.of the Qxs can inhibit the increase of capillary permeability induced by histamine remarkably, and there is no differentiation in this aspect between the high dosage. group of the Qxs and the positive.group.The high, middle dosage groups of the. Qxs can reduce the area of wheal remarkably in contras to the normal group, and, the high dosage group of the Qxs has the same function as the positive group in this aspect.
